Brain Gym for Adults

BG for BusinessSince I introduced Brain Gym (BG) as an alternative to medication for children in my last post, I thought I’d share more of my insights about my personal experiences with Brain Gym. Most people experience BG in a session called a balance with a licensed Brain Gym Consultant (you can find a global list of consultants at http://www.braingym.org).

I first experienced Brain Gym in a therapy session. After doing some simple body movements, I could feel tingling in my head—like electrical connexions. The BIG shift came when I sought to balance for an issue involving conflict avoidance with a particular person I had never been able to resolve. After setting my intention and balancing, the next day I was amazed at my reaction to a ‘scene’ with this person. In fact, I responded (rather than reacted) and was so shocked at what I said and did, I quickly looked around to see where it came from. I went to my therapist the following week and asked “what is this stuff?” and “can anyone do it?”

The 24 hour class for beginners was being offered locally the following week. I signed up, attended and six months later I earned my license and it was the best gift I ever gave myself as well as sharing with others. (P.S. I moved through ‘stuff’ quickly and painlessly with BG I had been working on for over 8 years in traditional therapy.)

Brain Gym is not just for children, most of my clients were adults and had profound results.

Solution: If you’re looking for an easy, natural way to step into how you want to live your life (rather than rehashing your past), Brain Gym is a choice that might be right for you. Basically BG is about re-patterning brain neuro-pathways through movement for ease in learning new ways of being and doing.

Healthier Choice: Treating habits, beliefs and patterns at a core level is much more effective that simply treating symptoms. You can easily change your life as well as your perspective at your perfect pace with Brain Gym activities.

Tried & True Tip: The biggest question I get about BG: “Will the results last?” And a great big “YES” is my answer. In my first BG balance with a fellow student I chose: “I easily follow the instructor.” as my goal. (My inability to follow aerobic and dance instructors was stressful since I often do the reverse of what I observe.) We did a balance and I felt great and I forgot about it until 10 months later…I was taking a new dance class (the first since my balance) and I began to notice what a different experience I was having—enjoyable and learning at my own pace with absolutely no stress and laughing when I ‘messed up’. (PS Something I never balanced for but was an additional bonus was no more motion sickness which I had experienced all of my life!)
